Hi Jayla, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Jay’s Shoe Boutique was established in 2017.
I started Jay’s Shoe Boutique centered around my passion and inspiration for cute stylish heels/shoes which urged me to inquire about starting a women’s shoe boutique. With hopes of one day opening a store and expanding in different states, 3 years later I opened our first location in Indianapolis, IN. After receiving a tremendous amount of support & continuously building our brand we decided to transition to Atlanta, GA.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve faced many struggles during the years, but I like to keep in mind that “you have to go through stuff to get through it” plus no one ever said becoming a business owner would be easy. Through my trials & tribulations, I’ve learned so much on “what to do differently” to prepare me for my future endeavors. My main struggles consists of being self-taught into the entrepreneurial world & also sitting on inventory that would not sell even on sale!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
With a lengthy background of Construction Management, I am currently employed with a fortune 500 company as a Bids Proposal Specialist. Outside of my shoe business, I have a soft side in the “construction” field. As this is position is a new for me, I am actually intrigued to be learning something new. I am most proud of my accomplishments for what has gotten me this far. I am always open to learning new things and I love adding a new skill under my belt!
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I just recently moved to Atlanta, GA about 4/5 months ago and I’m proud to say I truly enjoy living here. It’s so much to do/see & so many opportunities. The traffic isn’t the best, but you have to weigh the good with the bad!
