Meet Jeff Adamoff of Adamoff Designs in Coastal North County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Adamoff.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jeff. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
In 1978 I was asked to design a tour logo for the Eagles. That request turned into a position as Art & Design Director for MCA Records at Universal Studios. A very fulfilling 30 year career in the creative industry followed.  My journeys took me to Atlanta as Creative Director at CNN and then to Carlsbad, California to work with the legendary Ely Callaway as the Art Director of Callaway Golf.

In 2001, when Mr. Callaway took ill and passed away, I was asked to create a Tribute Edition Magazine and Timeline of his life.  That same magazine continues to exist today as a homage to this wonderful man. Two months later, our country experienced the horror of 9/11. Like every American who needed comfort and answers, I created a “Keep On Swinging” poster, featuring Johnnie Miller, to show the support from the golf industry. My artwork helped raise money for the victims of this tragic event, and I began to realize the true meaning in my work.  It was in 2010 that I began to apply my experiences to design Collage Art – my current mode of artistic expression.

My art was not simply meant to illustrate, but rather to restore personal peace and serenity. In 2016, when Glenn Frey of the Eagles passed away, I needed to express the devastation and profound loss I felt for my idol and friend with a collage of imagery from the solo albums I did with him. It was an emotional time for me and all other Eagle fans who wanted to remember Glenn, his music, and his advice, “it just needs to be cool.” Last year, I lost an old high school classmate and created a tribute collage to immortalize my old friend.

Again, my emotions poured into my work, and I shared this piece with our mutual friends on Facebook who all thanked me for helping them deal with the tragedy of losing someone they grew up with. Once again, I became aware of the potential impact of my art… it’s an amazing feeling to be able to use my creativity as a gift to help make people feel better; ARTandSOUL – a creative healing for the heart!

Today, Adamoff Designs and the ARTandSOUL concept is where imagination and memories meet.

I can create a special and unique custom work of art using your photographs or imagery, for any occasion – that will become a cherished and everlasting gift.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As an Art Director in the corporate world, there is a paycheck every two weeks.

As an independent artist/designer you are always trying to find a way to get people’s attention – at art shows or online – and it’s not an easy road. You just learn not to worry and to find your inner passion and inspiration to be able to stay creative.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Adamoff Designs – what should we know?
My work is an artistic composition of digital imagery, photography, and design which also incorporates acrylics and different brush, sponge, and speckle painting techniques to form a rich, colorful and unique final canvas. Concepts range from wine labels to classic movies, family/school reunions, new beginnings to advertising posters and key art; all telling a certain story – and can be printed on an assortment of mediums. It is where imagination and memories meet…

As an artist, it’s an amazing feeling to be able to use my creativity that will bring a smile to someone’s life. I am very proud of all my accomplishments and experiences over the years, from the Music and Movie business to the Golf Industry and now to my current work.  It has been an amazing ride

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
There are no secrets to success if you are lucky enough to find it.  Having a positive outlook and getting your mind out of the way help…but it’s usually the result of hard work, learning from failure, and finding the strength to stay creative, work on anything you can and keep on going.

You also have to love what you are doing… I don’t look for markers, but I do look back at my old work every now and then to understand where I’ve been… It helps me to figure out where I’m going next… and I do believe the best is yet to come!!!
