Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Siebrand.
Hi Jeff, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
After playing guitar in numerous bands starting in the late ’80s, I finally got burned out and walked away in 2011. I then put all my energy into hiking which led to buying my first camera to better capture the beautiful landscapes I was seeing. I then started reading and studying everything I could to learn photography. This continues to this day.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t say it’s been smooth but it’s been a blast. My biggest struggle has been and continues to be learning Photoshop.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in Long Exposures and nightscapes/ astrophotography. What I’m most proud of is actually being able to learn how to do these techniques.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see the ability for the amateur photographer to be able to capture and create much more detailed astrophotography images due to much more affordable equipment and software improvements.
