Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenilee Redondo and Joanne Ortega.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jenilee and Joanne. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
The timing of our idea couldn’t have been more perfect, as Joanne was transitioning out of the military after serving for six years. We’ve both always wanted to create an outlet to express ourselves and as two completely opposite sisters, jewelry was something we could always agree on. We want to emphasize that dainty pieces of jewelry can make a huge impact on how one feels and tie an outfit together. It’s definitely been a challenging experience since this is something we’ve never done before but with the support of our family and friends, it’s helped us kickstart our business.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t been the easiest since we live in different states, but we’ve definitely found time to make it work. Communication is so important when it comes to starting a business with someone else, and as sisters, we are pretty good at keeping each other in the loop. However, our downfall is not being consistent with social media, but it’s something we’ve taken into consideration and are working on.
Please tell us about Raymar & Leona.
When we envisioned Raymar & Leona, our main goal was to present dainty jewelry as an accent piece that makes a huge statement. Our pieces are meant for versatility – where one can dress it up or down. The idea is to use a staple piece for everyday use.
As a company, we’re most proud of seeing individuals rock our pieces in their own personal style. That alone makes us feel like we’re working towards our goal.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Probably be more consistent with our social media accounts. Nowadays, social media has such a large impact on society and it’s one of the best ways to promote business.
