Meet Jennifer Hudgens of Natural Wellness Tips in Mission Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Hudgens.

Jennifer, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I graduated from school with my Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May of 2009 and started my career at the beginning of August 2009, On August 31st I was taking a bike ride before work and I was hit by a car…… the driver was not paying attention at a stop sign. That day my life changed forever and left me with a new definition of normal I felt like a passenger in my life more than the person actually living it.

Following this accident, the doctors basically told me to adjust to my new normal and fill out my permanent disability paperwork…… I couldn’t even imagine my life like this… Permanently disabled? What about my dreams? If I listened to them my life as I knew it was over. So I did what anyone would do at that point, I went home and cried… a lot!!! I still tear up thinking about how hard this was for me. But the next day is what made all the difference in my life, I decided to try my own way, a road less traveled.

I worked with an acupuncturist, massage therapist, I started yoga… heck I even became a yoga instructor. I felt like I was managing pretty well. I had gone back to work at this point and felt like I had established my new normal. That new normal included pain levels of 4-9/10……. so it wasn’t a very comfortable normal. Then 5 1/2 years after my accident I was introduced to essential oils. Within a month of using doTERRA essential oils, I felt my body finally had the support it needed to thrive again and I was pain-free for the first time in years!!!!

My life was impacted so drastically that I made it my mission to share the power of essential oils with everyone I could. I have built a booming business in just three years. I help empower people to take charge of their health and wellness through essential oils. One of my favorite parts of my work is that I get to help other people step into the world of entrepreneurship. I work alongside these amazing people as they impact life after life physically, emotionally and financially through doTERRA essential oils

I have created a lifestyle I could only have dreamed of, waking up when I am ready, doing yoga every single morning and doing what I LOVE to do each and every day. I often get asked, ‘how did you get so lucky,’ to which I reply…… All I had to do was get hit by a car.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing worth it is easy, right? When I first started my business Natural Wellness Tips and started selling doTERRA essential oils I worked full time as a physical therapist. There was very little balance in my life and I felt pulled in many directions. I knew I was on the right path and that it would be worth it, so I kept my head down and followed my path.

New struggles began when I transitioned from an employee to 100% self-employed in the summer of 2016. I had to learn the true definition of drive and motivation with no one to report to. I stepped up to the challenge and have continued to grow my business, my team, and my community.

I have worked hard but I wouldn’t change it. It has been such an amazing journey and I love waking up each day to keep working toward my dream.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Natural Wellness Tips story. Tell us more about the business.
Natural Wellness Tips is my brand and company and within this brand, I have few things I do that all work together to allow me to help people on their journey to their healthiest version of themselves. Teaching yoga, meditation, and essential oils.

My main passion is teaching people about doTERRA essential oils. I love meeting with people and getting to know them and health challenges and goals. I then teach them more about how to use essential oils and specifically address their needs and goals. I love when people leave feeling empowered with the tools they need to reach their goals. I am lucky enough to build friendships with so many amazing people and watch their lives and health improve.

I also help other people start their own essential oil business’s. As people start to experience success with essential oils in their homes many times they want to share the power of essential oils with others. Many supplement their income with doTERRA, but others have been able to replace their income. A school teacher and a graphic designer, for example, have both stepped into the role of selling doTERRA essential oils full time. I love working with incredible people who have the same mission as me, to empower others!

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe much in luck. I believe that opportunities are presented to us and it is up to us if we take advantage of them. I could have filled out my permanent disability paperwork many years ago and just settled, but instead, I turned a horrible situation into a blessing. Luck has no part in that, hard work, dedication, and mindset do.
