Hi Jerry, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Ran the ASAP Pro am surf series from 1993-2002 before I sold the tour to a competitor.
After many surfers approaching me in 2024 asking me to bring back a US based surfing tour after 22 years without a tour I decided to bring one back. Im a one man show right now being the director of the events, marketing, social media marketing, sponsorship director and many other hats.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Its been tough with the cost to run events in CA with the high costs of permits. Lack of sponsorship interest from the surf community as well.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Spent 13 years on the fitness industry as a GM for 24 Hr fitness and LA Fitness.
Spent 10 years in the mortgage industry
Owned and operated No Limits Baseball academy 2013-2019
Developer of Surfing Wave pools 2019 – present.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
With the wave pool industry booming it will help us run events in wave pools and widen our audience
