Today we’d like to introduce you to Jesse Mercado.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I began tattooing in 1993, it has been a long and difficult road, but I’m still here doing what I love six days a week. Tattooing is my life and when it comes to my clients I think they’re the best, I really appreciate that they come to me, even though they have a vast choice of tattoo shops.
Please tell us about your art.
I love to make people happy, either by giving them a beautiful tattoo or covering up a tattoo that they are unhappy with. There is nothing more important to me than doing a beautiful tattoo, well as far as art is concerned.
What do you think about conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?
I believe it’s a little bit of both, it’s become easier because of social media and free advertisement, but it’s also a bit harder because of the number of tattoos today. But no matter what… No one can do what you do! Keep up the hard work and love what you do.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
