Meet Jessica Duron

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Duron.

Jessica, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born a musician, as far as I can remember, I’d always be singing.

From watching my Grandpa and Tio singing and playing piano in my grandparent’s living room as a toddler, to singing in the El Camino High school Choir for all four years. Music has always been my one constant.

I consider myself a creative.

I’ve always been fascinated by all forms of expression and how it moves people especially.

Whether it be, Art, Fashion or Music, in my eyes its all-inclusive and my heart is with it all.

I am where I’m at today because of one thing and that’s community.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I’ve come to the conclusion, any goal or dream worth reaching isn’t going to be easy or a smooth road, whatsoever.

I’ve faced a lot of struggles on the way and understand that I’m going to continue to face struggles, with anything that I’m passionate about.

But, its a price I’m willing to pay to grow and get out of my comfort zone.

One of the biggest struggles/distractions that I’ve recently faced and came to terms with is, I compare my timing with all the creatives around me.

Shifting that focus back onto myself is a muscle that I constantly work on.

Personally, conquering the mind and reminding myself that there are no rules to how things SHOULD be done, is my biggest battle as an artist and creative.

Please tell us more about your music. What do you do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
I Am an independent Singer/Songwriter.

I sing and play the guitar, recently, I’m known more for features in my city Oceanside CA.

You can catch me on some of Dezzy Hollow’s (@DezzyHollow)

Tracks and the homie NATAL1E’s (@Natal1emusic) tracks as well. (Found on all streaming platforms)

But I am also known for my acoustic sets and soulful voice.

Which you’ll be hearing more of very soon.

What I am most proud of as a musician and my own brand is that I’ve never given up completely. I’ve always kept pushing and I’ll continue to keep doing so. This is all I know.

What sets me apart from others is that as well. No matter how low life gets, I’m always going to push forward. I believe in the power of music, the power of art and The power of the community built around it. We OVERCOME.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I personally define success as freedom.

Whether that be financially, spiritually, or through expression.

Following my intuition and not letting myself down when it comes to my goals/growth.

To ultimately reach Balance and understand self.

That’s success to me.
