Today we’d like to introduce you to Jiane Ricafrente.
Jiane, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I don’t have my own business, however I currently work in higher education. Never in a million years did I think I would be in the field of higher education, but it has been rewarding in some aspects. It is so inspiring to work with hundreds of students that come from all walks of life. Everybody is so different and their stories are different, but they all have the same goal of bettering themselves and getting that degree.
What leads me here is my love for helping people. I’ve done multiple customer service jobs like Starbucks and even Walt Disney World! After I had left Disney, I knew I wanted to help people, but on a different level, which lead me to my current profession. On the side, I enjoy traveling and going to concerts. I absolutely love anything that will push me outside of my comfort zone, I live for the experience.
Has it been a smooth road?
I wouldn’t say it was the smoothest road, but it also wasn’t the roughest. However, I did have to do a lot of souls searching to figure out what I wanted to do in life and to be honest, I’m still trying to figure that out. But for now, I’m fine with where I am at, I am just enjoying the ride.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love how my city has everything you need! It has a lot of mainstream stores, but at the same time, you can find some really cool hidden gems. Also, coffee shops everywhere! I don’t think there’s anything I dislike about my city except that it is expensive.
