Today we’d like to introduce you to Jocelyn Sevier.
Jocelyn Sevier was born and raised in San Diego, CA. Jocelyn begins her career as a musician, songwriter, producer, and record label owner. In 2006 Jocelyn and a friend founded KaoticKlone Productions, Jocelyn began producing beats for music artists and in 2015, she started producing films and web series.
Jocelyn is working on a sci-fi drama called “The World We Know”, a crime drama called “ILLFaded”. She is also working on films such as “Elusive Delusions”, “The Heart To Fight”, two short films, “Clean My Plate” and Killing Calm”. Jocelyn has other productions in the works, some being released in 2019, while the rest will be released in the years to come.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My path to success has had it’s up and downs like most entrepreneurs. Learning how to juggle business and your personal life can be a testament to your motivation. I believe being a musician first helped me in the film industry, a musician knows the heartache of being this one individual in a sea of people ultimately doing the same thing. Making your craft unique and standing out can be difficult. Stepping into the film industry is no different, there are so many people with ideas and the internet plays a huge part.
I was born in the 80s, back then there was no internet to upload your music too and no YouTube to upload a video and go viral. Nowadays being awkward, unique and having a cellphone with a camera that can be compared to a DSLR camera creates more entrepreneurs. Websites have expanded, allowing anyone to create on without even knowing HTML. The road gets hard when it comes to funding all your ideas but once you pass that challenge, there are no limits to what you can achieve.
Please tell us about KaoticKlone Productions.
KaoticKlone Productions is a San Diego based production company. We offer audio and video production services. Our bright team of musicians and filmmakers will create your vision through audio, video or both. Our services include music production, music composing for TV or film, video game production, video production, scriptwriting, niche videos, and commercials.
My company is mostly known for music, film and TV shows. What I am most proud of as a company, is that we have achieved a lot without a big budget, we can create with little to no budget because we own all of our equipment. Most companies need to outsource equipment and or rent. We have invested our funding into having our own equipment which allows us to create and get our content out right away.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I believe luck did play a role in some aspect when I started out producing films and TV shows, the first person I worked with could not multitask the way I could. So, I taught myself how to write scripts and screenplays, from there, I went onto developing 25 projects that are currently in development or pre-production. This allowed me to further my entrepreneurial advancements in life and business. From that moment, I never do any kind of production business without written contracts. Now, I have over 50 cast members, great crew, staff and optioned scripts from writers as far as the UK. My production company has cast and crew in San Diego, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
