Today we’d like to introduce you to Jody Munro.
Jody, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started off by taking Chammyz towels that you use to wash a car and having a seamstress create a hoody/pullover out of these chammyz which we started selling to the lifeguards because the nature of the material is its ability to wick water/moisture and then immediately evaporate. We have since been selling to scuba divers, swimmers, lifeguards and water enthusiasts around the world for 24 years. Recently we started a line of Doggy towels made from our all-natural material because of the uniqueness and function of the material and are now pioneering this new line of Chammyz doggy sPAW towels!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely had its ups and downs as various economy issues, the ever increasing cost of making our fabrics and most recently, the growth and market introduction of performance fabrics by companies such as Under Armor and Nike and Adidas have cut into our niche market.
Chammyz – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I handle all sales and marketing. I also have a hand in product development and international distribution. I do all the trade shows and I am now in charge of pioneering new pet line. I am most proud of the growth and global markets we have selling Chammyz. I am also proud of the famous athletes and celebrities we have wearing our products.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
