Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Hermoso.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Joseph. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
MosoWorks became my business name after I decided to be a handyman right here in San Diego. I started becoming more aware of where I was heading after a friend’s father gave me a talk while I was working for him. I owe half of my lifelong goals to Jim Brill and his family; the other half, my father Edmundo Hermoso, Sr. who brought our family here in the U.S. (that’s a different story). I’ve had plenty of hands-on experience from previous jobs, trainings and some schooling. Specialty systems from “Soda Gun” installs/repairs for bars and restaurants, plumbing leak repairs, drain cleaning, woodwork, metal work. I’m even doing coating requests for customers from stains, epoxy, ceramic, wax, and paint. all hands on and a bit of artistry all came together and that’s what the handyman business is all about. giving your time, experience and hands to those who needs them.
Has it been a smooth road?
owning a business can have challenges, separating family and friends from the business can be very sensitive. being a handyman, you want to know what the customer(s) expectations, wants and/or needs, I have to remember every day that I am working on someone’s personal space. so you want to give it your best. “positive vibes” is what one of my customers have mentioned about me, I like to keep “positive vibes” when I’m around. leaving your personal life and going to work is a must-have in my field, not just skills of physical labor.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with MOSOWORKS – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
The Handyman: I do a bit of everything. But I specialize in plumbing (water leaks, drains, finish plumbing, water heaters, etc). I do a bit of woodworking, installing audio/video equipment, painting, epoxy coatings, staining, metal work, automotive paint correction and automotive coatings (in case I find you are into cars like me). If you have something you need to maintain or fix I’ll let you know if its something I can or cannot handle. I’m pretty versatile like most handymen and we are all set apart by our specialties. I like to network with other guys instead of the other way around. I don’t see other handymen as competition rather an extension of my abilities to help my community.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
San Diego has one of the best weather year round, great selection of outdoor and indoor activities. The least I like about San Diego is higher cost of living.
