Today, we’d like to introduce you to Josh Bivs. Josh was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Trenell Foster.
Hi Josh, we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.
I started as a photographer shooting street photography in 2010 and fell in love with compositions. I was curious if different style of photography so I studied fashion photography. That’s was a whole different chapter and I will always always be thankful that my mentor Uriel showed me how express my vision and helped train my eyes to make a composition with just the subject.
Years after that I stated seeing Instagram shifting more towards videos so I shifted with it. I started with music videos, which was a learning curve financially and mentally. I learned and had many up with more downs but I pulled through and learned that your time is always valuable.
Making music videos o yo lasted for so long because there is always politics and drama, and I got burnt out because of that.
So I took a nice break and started doing 3D art work, but the more I studied 3D art, I found VFX and go inspired again. Now seeing how it’s implemented into every majority of films, I got inspired and now I’m trying to learn the ins and outs.

Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
I am a digital creator who loves composition and is also willing to learn more about it. I sometimes tell my mom I have a curse and blessing because I breakdown movies when no one ask for me to.but mainly a blessing because I can’t wait to make my own feature film to not only represent me but my family. As of 2023 I am a content creator for semi pro/college sports, barbershops and entrepreneurs.

Trenell Foster has been a great friend to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Trenell and your experience with them.
My experience with shooting the fan film RANGERS has been awesome. I’m always learning and taking in feedback to be a better cameraman and team player. Black monolith is going to be known in San Diego, it’s only a matter of time.
I learned that you really have to take your time with this, I mean it’s a form of art.
I live being in that environment because there is always something to learn and there is always an idea or an opinion to learn from.
