Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshlyn Turner.
Joshlyn, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The Write Fit is an online apparel company for men and women specializing in graphic apparel that relates the lives of individuals around the world and was established in June of 2013. The buzz about The Write Fit caused and overwhelming request for children’s apparel, which sparked The Write Fit Kids, “The World How We See It”, a collection that promotes education, positive self-image, and inspires kids to achieve their goals.
The most popular line by The Write Fit is the Black Girls Got The Juice collection, which empowers women of color and reminds them that their supernatural power is golden. The statement pieces were created to enlighten, promote and appreciate the essence of Black women in the African-American community and around the world.
Joshlyn Turner is a designer that thinks fashion is the runway to live. She is witty, chic and believes in self-expression through style. Turner is bold and lives her life as a statement. She takes time with each design and looks to her life and others as inspiration. Turner’s love of words and attention to detail separates her from other designers and allows her to unite individuals around the world one T-shirt at a time.
This year, our company celebrates 5 years in business. Since it’s inceptkon, we’ve added swimsuits, biker shorts, Jean jackets and other accessories to our collections. We’re constanly growing and have so much in store for the future.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Challenges arise on your destination to greatness. The hardest struggle is remaining consistent and giving our customers something bigger and better each time. As the creative director, creativity is also a struggle with an artist. Staying up to date with trends, but remaining in a lane of our own to create new ones. The best part of the journey is that we’ve never stopped. And that’s what makes great people/brands great, they never give up.

We’re an apparel company that showcases creative expressions through fashion. We’re known for our T-shirt’s that have catchy phrases that attract people’s attention. Our collections range from T-shirt’s to swimsuits, and most recently Fanny packs. We’re not a print on demand company like most.
Our apparel isn’t branded with our company logo. We have a message. We have something for everyone. We spend a lot of time from concept to completion when releasing our collections, it has been to the right fit. ☺️ This journey has been amazing & the support has been so beautiful.
What were you like growing up?
I’ve been writing since I was a kid. It came really easy to me. Creative writing seemed like something I was just born with. I started so young writing stories and poems, and long letters to friends in grade school. I was always writing something.
And when I got old enough to understand fashion, I paid close attention to my stylish grandma who intel fixed me to fashion. She taught me to think outside the box. And always have a piece of fashion, that makes you stands out. When people wear the right fit, they feel good. And they stand out.
