Today we’d like to introduce you to Josie Pawlak.
Josie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started in 2009 staging homes after the mortgage crisis. There was a huge demand for staging as it was emerging as a new trend. Primarily flippers staged and there were big companies flipping multiple homes per week. We developed some great partnerships with them and my business grew fast!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the most difficult times in the past 16 years was when covid hit in 2020. Homes started selling much quicker and many people didn’t stage as often as usual because of covid restrictions. We had to scale back our inventory quite a bit because we went from having around 230 homes staged at once to around 125. Luckily there was a huge demand for furniture from supply chain issues so we sold off some.of our inventory that we wanted to replace with newer, nicer furniture.
Over the past year we’ve had to increase our inventory quite a bit again since homes are taking longer to sell now. We’re constantly having to adjust with market changes, but that’s part of the business!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We take care of our clients and have many long term relationships with agents for many years. Our clients know we are very reliable and have fast turn around.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I’ll step in and drive trucks and move the furniture in case of a situation where we get short staffed last minute. We do whatever it takes to make sure to stay on schedule.
