Today we’d like to introduce you to JourneyJay.
JourneyJay, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My real name is JourneyJay. It’s a mononym which means I only have the first name and it happens to have two capital letters.
I have been a creative for my entire life.
I’ve been developing myself as a character for years, since around 2012. During that time period, I have experienced a lot of growth and opportunity.
Proficient in writing, I made the conclusion that it was time to take my personality and form a foundation that would allow me to exploit and address the commercial viability of my character. Consider me the Roger Rabbit, and the Pee Wee of San Diego County.
Based entirely off myself and what I perceive to be our reality, my current direction has had my front and center as a developer of content featuring my character.
One with the multiverse, JourneyJay has the power to see through time and space. He is able to communicate and alter himself from other universes and works frequently with himself to distort reality for the sake of comedy and personally pleasing entertainment.
Based on this preamble, my future is about detailing this experience from the perspectives of various real-world persons in their own stories in the form of television and other media.
JourneyJay stars alongside many a friend and foe from across dimension, in what is potentially an infinite empire of movies, events, music, and other content while also dealing with our universe as it attempts to develop him in our reality as he faces these materials and their effects on his existence.
As developed here, JourneyJay is part of three television programs currently being developed by myself.
I’m trying to incorporate a huge musical presence, associating many artists from across the country to the projects.
The main project, titled “The New Savvy Adventures”, has been completely written for 1 season and is currently being developed for a second season that launches the San Diego based musicians into the project. I’m still working out the kinks and am seeking support from across various areas of entertainment.
My entire personality is based on the reality I have learned to believe in due to my schizophrenia and exposure to homelessness.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have been frequently targeted and attacked for my character and image.
Abandoned by my entire family, I have struggled immensely.
I have been homeless for seven years.
I have been banned from the equivalent of cities for my sexual orientation and the perception of its expression.
Attempts by criminal street gangs on my life leave me vulnerable and weak.
I have lost all of my friends, twice (metaphorically), and have nothing to show of my talent except my shows in the form of screenplays and eight hours of free instrumentals at JourneyJaybeats.com.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a screenwriter. I had perfect scores in English while in school.
I’m known for being my own.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I have received receptiveness towards my shows by various high profile entities. They find the project interesting, and that’s all I can hope for right now.
