Today we’d like to introduce you to Juan Carlos Barreneche.
Juan, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
December 2014, I am sitting in my dorm room studying for my chemistry test. A thought ponders in my mind. Do I really want to become a doctor? I have one more year left of undergrad, four years of medical school, two years of residency, & two years of specialty left to go. Not to mention I will be $500k in debt after all of this is complete… for what? Just so I can build a doctor practice & go into more in debt? No there has to be a better way.
I immediately write down the two things I wanted out of my life: 1. To Help As Many People As Possible 2. To Become In Full Control Of My Life & Live it On My OWN Terms. I realized that #1 would allow #2 to happen naturally so I type in on google “How to become financially free & in control” & a book called Rich Dad Poor Dad comes up. I downloaded the PDF read the entire copy from start to finish, failed my chemistry exam the next day, & my life was altered forever. It was at that moment on I knew I needed to become a real estate investor. December of 2015, I finish up my undergraduate degree so I could make momma happy. May of 2016, I get licensed to sell real estate full time… the rest is history.
Fast forward, four years later and I have an organization with more than 225+ agents across the country, an NYC based real estate team selling $50M in property this year, & an Instagram following of more than 220k people with 1M+ weekly impressions. Another four years and you will find a very loving human being who is inspired on helping as many people become the best possible versions of themselves through self-love, education, & wisdom. We can discuss this more during the interview.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
HELL NO & I am happy it hasn’t. The only way to increase your rate of success is to increase the rate of failure. Failure is a blessing & opportunity in disguise to become a better person. Everything. Lost 80k to a contractor. Had dozens of deals fall through I could go on.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Goldbar Luxury Homes – what should we know?
What I do is less important rather than WHY I do it. My business is the vehicle I use in order to impact the lives of people when it comes to getting to their goal. In the case of the agent that goal may be to increase their income or grow their business, in that case I am known for completely providing them with the resources & accountability they need in order to become successful. If I am dealing with a client, someone looking to buy or sell a home, I set myself apart by delivering more value than any other competitor in my market. My title may be real estate broker, agent, or advisor but in reality, I am more of a connector. Someone that goes on in life building relationships with people and introducing them to others who can help them get to their goals faster.
