Meet Jubie Nash

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jubie Nash.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I grew up in Spring Valley until the end of my junior year in high school and moved to Temecula and continued to commute to San Diego for school. I now attend California State University Northridge where I’m studying to obtain my bachelors in Marketing and began making music this past January. I started making music after touring around LA with some friends of mine recording them and their performances and parties. I got in contact with a lot of people in the music scene and hopped in a studio one day to see what my voice would sound like on a track and Instantly fell in love. A couple of days later I came up with $ame and sent it out to a couple of friends to get their take on it and off of the feedback I received it was something I should put out. Fast forward six months later I’m doing shows in LA and in San Diego, $ame is streaming on the radio (jam’n 95.7) weekly, articles are being written about me and my music, and tracks are piling up. My journey is only just beginning if I can accomplish all this in six months, I know I can get to where I want to be in a couple of years.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I struggle with depression and anxiety a lot and with this being the case it cause me to hold a lot of things in and kind of censor my feelings and emotions from people.

Tell us more about what you do.
I’m a young, bright, up and coming artist trying to put the city of San Diego on the map. There is so much untapped potential in our city but due to the negativity we have and self-centered mindset we San Diegans share no one will ever know.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I’ve had amazing luck so far, my mom is/was a pretty big promoter in San Diego my stepfather is a well-known DJ, my aunt is an artist and has connections with a lot of big music companies. I believe everything is mapped out for me I just need to put the work in.
