Today we’d like to introduce you to Julia Pelio.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I was born and raised in Moscow, Russia. I remember, my parents owned a very old red Mercedes when they took me on my first road trip when I was 4. Since then, I would wait for our road trips more than for Christmas. Traveling became my biggest passion in life.
Six years ago I got married and moved to the United States. My husband is also a big adventure enthusiast, so we started exploring together.
Four years ago we took a month to travel around the West Coast. That trip changed my life completely.
That’s when I decided that I want to share my life with the world and tell everyone about how beautiful our world is and how important and fulfilling it is to travel, so I started creating videos on YouTube and writing articles about the most unique places I visited.
Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
There is no better way to learn more about yourself than through traveling.
Looking back, I realize that every trip I took, every culture I dipped in, and every person I met on my way, left a huge imprint on my life and my personality. I am so lucky to have this experience.
Adventure means stepping out of your comfort zone, challenging yourself and expanding your limits. There is a perfect quote that I always keep in my mind: “If it’s both terrifying and amazing, then you should definitely pursue it.” So don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Travel. Explore.
I am always excited about beautiful, secret spots that are hard to get to because after pushing myself and fighting fears, the rewarding feeling after getting there adds so much magic to my life. This feeling is like a drug – you want more and more.
