Today we’d like to introduce you to Junior Leoso.
Junior, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a Fitness Trainer, I found a few shortcomings that led to less than desirable outcomes. I noticed that we trained athletes different that we trained the gym goers. And this wasn’t due to any particular concept or ideology. It was due to the growing culture of the gyms. There was also an issue with sessions. Clients were really only working out with the trainer, and not on their own. This was, and is very common.
The last issue, was the lack of knowledge in more than one area. For example, a boxing coach had limited knowledge with strength training… and vice versa.
My plan was to develop a Training program to take care of these, and other issues in our industry. So, I did. I took the basic training protocols from athlete performance (football seasons / fight training) and applied them into the everyday gym goer. I also created full length plans, and implemented non-session workouts. This way clients could train as many days as were necessary (per plan), and not have to worry about the financial aspects to private coaching. And last, I made sure to build a team of various coaches. All with a specialty in a different background. Doing this really did give our clients the best “team” of coaches. They had access to multiple ways of thinking, multiple aspects of training, and multiple ways to reach their goals. This also really helped on the business end, because it left each coach with the ability to attract a specific genre of clientele. This completely eliminated the conflict and competition between coaches within the gym. Great for everyone.
Once we had this plan in motion, the results were amazing. We had the happiest, most successful, and best referring clients I’ve ever witnessed. I have been a Trainer in some large markets, and never seen anything like this. You could give credit to the workout plans, the vast knowledge of the Coaches, or even the super cool gear we use each day in the gym. But I truly believe it’s all due to the care, compassion, and love our Coaches have for the members. We have created a culture in PBT, that really defies the normal logic and lifestyle of other gyms.
Today, we’re a successful bunch of Coaches. We are happy to see the results of our efforts, and continue to help our community any way we can. Our online programs have really taken off too. We can now reach anyone, anywhere, anytime.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There’s always struggles. Although the struggle is only temporary, and has always been worth it.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Pacific Beach Training – what should we know?
Pacific Beach Training is the brainchild of Junior Leoso. His dream was to develop a place for the community, in order to promote healthy, happy living. PBT is a gym built for the neighborhood. We specialize in Fight Fitness, Kettlebell Conditioning, Strength Training, & Fat Loss programs. We’re known in San Diego as a well-rounded team of professionals, offering a wide variety of training styles, under one roof. We’re most proud of our members, and the way they have all become happier, healthier versions of themselves. We believe our team of coaches, in addition to our online training programs… are what set us apart from other gyms.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I owe a lot of credit, to a lot of people. Too many to list. Starting with my family, and personal clients. From my lifetime friends, to my newfound mentors and business advocates. I don’t believe anyone makes any type of success of themselves, without the great support, and help of others. I know this to be true for me personally.
