Meet Karoline Buchsbaum of ArtelieRio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Karoline Buchsbaum.

Karoline, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started ArtelieRio at La Jolla Open Air Farmers Market as a mobile boutique.
I create our collections with my team and curate all the textiles and prints.

I’m so proud to be the founder and creator of a local sustainable brand.

Meet the founder:

Karoline Buchsbaum was born in a small town, called Cachoeiras de Macacu, in the middle of the Atlantic Rain Forest in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

She came to San Diego, CA in 2011 to learn English.

She absolutely lives her life through art, fashion and yoga to express herself.

Her background as a Contemporary ballerina at the Federal University of Rio leads her to start a career in the Fashion Industry.

As a Personal Stylist, Karoline always dreams to create a sustainable brand to empower women that wants to wear clothing with a purpose.

“There is no way people keep consuming cheap and toxic products made by slavery work.

The Fashion Revolution is real and it’s on.

Join us! “

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been hard to spread out our purpose.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people still buying cheap and unethical Fast Fashion.

Most of these consumers have no idea how fashion works and how the garments are made.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about ArtelieRio – what should we know?
