Meet Kass Rose Gold of Chula Vista, San Diego

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kass Rose Gold.

Hi Kass Rose, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Born in Santa Cruz, and raised in San Diego, I’ve had a lifelong passion for creative writing and music, with dreams of becoming a singer songwriter. I started releasing music on SoundCloud in 2018, and by 2019, my EP “Feel Like You” was available on major streaming platforms. Since then, I’ve collaborated with talented artists and musicians in San Diego, releasing new music and feature work. I’ve also launched my own clothing brand, Angels Anon, which has been a huge source of creative outlet for me- through this I’ve enjoyed designing, film, and digital photography, among other things. With my debut live show being on Valentine’s Day of 2018- performing live with my band has been such a wild ride, both locally and outside of SD. Oh, and I also can’t forget to give a shout out to Soda Bar and the Casbah as two of my favorite local venues.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Pursuing an art form is something that challenges you in so many ways as a person, not just an artist. Starting out in my early 20s, I’ve grown and changed so much, and although it’s hasn’t always been the easiest balance to keep my craft in sync with who I am, I’ve learned that the best art comes from vulnerability and genuineness. When you create from an authentic place, others connect with it. Ultimately with that, not caring what others think can sometimes be a challenge, but you have to find it in you to do what’s best for you at the end of the day. It’s really all about patience, trial and error, reflection, and growth. It’s hard work, but if you don’t give up- you’ll get there.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Songwriting is my passion, and I use it as somewhat of a diary to process life’s ups and downs. Since taking my craft seriously in 2017, I’ve grown significantly as a writer, artist, and creative director. I always look forward to sharing everything I’ve learned with each release. Currently, I’m focusing on releasing singles, with a goal to drop an EP or album soon. My next single coming up is one that I actually began with my producer, Andre Elias, as far back as 2016 in his home studio (shout out the home studio days). It’s been sitting on ice all these years, and I recently came across it and felt this track absolutely needed to be finished and shared with my listeners. Through finessing our early work It’s been so beautiful to see just how much both of us have grown within our craft and it’s shaping up to be one of my absolute favorite songs we’ve made so far. Very hyped to share that one with y’all. Aside from that, I’m also working on a special event set for summer of 2026 and I’ll definitely be dropping more details on that through my social media as we approach the date, but it’s definitely something I’m really looking forward to.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned on this journey is the importance of prioritizing self-healing. It’s a challenging and ongoing process that requires so much discipline, reflection, patience, and hard work. But the payoff is endless- when you heal, you become a better version of yourself, and that energy radiates into every aspect of your life, from your work and relationships to your performances and overall presence.

I’m proud to say that my most recent release, a single titled “VICE”, aligns with my most healed self yet, and it’s performing better than anything I’ve released in previous years. I attribute this progress to the effort I’ve put into healing and growing as a person. It’s a lesson I 10/10 absolutely recommend – taking the time to heal yourself is truly worthwhile, hugely transformative, and your art will thank you. Happy healing!!
