So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was always intrigued with makeup and beauty, my older sister played a strong role in that. That transpired to eyebrows then eventually into skin care then turned into my main passion.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a very bumpy road, but I’m so grateful for it now. It is very hard going out on your own, fear holds us back from a lot of things. Once you do go out on your own, no-one can really prepare you for the extreme ups and downs. Good days, bad weeks, all the in between. You really learn who you are in a deeper, more vulnerable way.
Skintuition – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My business, Skintuition, is a skin clinic. I focus primarily on skin therapy and have great results with acne and ageing. I also specialize in brow shaping, such an important piece on the face that I schedule a minimum of 30 minutes for each brow appointment! I am proud of my evolution as an esthetician/woman in this industry. I am always striving to do better and learn more. I am what sets myself apart from others. We all are great in our own ways. Estheticians have their own touch and approach and a certain clientele will be attracted to that specific niche.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Showing my parents my clinic, they have always been so supportive. To be able to open the door and let them see who I am as an entrepreneur was a really special moment.
