Meet Katy Yeager

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katy Yeager.

Katy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always been a dreamer, and I have always been borderline addicted to helping people find true freedom and joy. After college, I dabbled (a bit aimlessly) in social work, education, nonprofit, and then started to catch the entrepreneurship bug. Around that time, which was seven years ago, my husband and I left all we knew and moved from Texas to San Diego for him to attend grad school at UCSD; and for me, it was a blank slate to start something new and different.

I knew that it was my season to create for myself a space to find my own voice and to learn how to use it. I started out on a personal journey that would end up pioneering a way for other women to be able to detox and dream. The work I have done in my personal life is now the very thing that is providing opportunities for other women to experience wholeness- physically, mentally, and spiritually. It’s exciting and humbling! And it all started with moving to San Diego, the city that I now love and call home.

I thought I was just preparing myself, but in reality, I was mapping out my destiny. I look at the future with such expectancy, because there is room for everyone- for YOU- to experience what I have found: true, unadulterated wholeness!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Is there such a thing as a smooth road? I think not! What makes someone’s story inspirational, worth listening too- is what they had to overcome: the struggles are what activate hope, and hope is what we all need to keep going when it does get bumpy!

A huge struggle I overcame was my personal battle with anxiety- which kept me from connecting with people and being able to using my voice. Learning how to renew my mind was the first step in me pursuing my dreams as a communicator and business owner.

What I am most proud of though, even more than overcoming anxiety- is subtle and powerful: it was wrestling and embracing belief. It sounds simple, but believing that you have something truly valuable to offer- having belief that you are worth success, worth pursuing your dreams- worthy of joy- it takes serious work. There will always be haters, but the only hater that will cause you to quit is yourself. Shut that part of yourself up! Don’t let yourself quit- when you know deep down what you are created to do and who you are created to be.

With every failure, I had that small voice saying to give up and to play it safe. I have failed my way to success- and I know that if I had not figured out how to access belief in myself, I would not be where I am today.

Please tell us about your work.
I am so proud of what I get to do!

My career got started through sharing and selling Young Living Essential Oils, where I helped co-create the brand MDRN HOUSE.

Through my essential oils business, I began to see a pattern emerge: my passion for wellness was bleeding into my passion for helping women, in particular, find inner healing and wholeness.

With my background in nonprofit and ministering to women, I decided to expand my business and create a personal brand to include what I now call “wholeness” coaching, speaking, and writing. I have also launched workshops that I facilitate both in-person and online centered around detoxing and dreaming. The momentum has been fun and exciting and I know that this is just the beginning!

What sets me apart is my ability to facilitate a safe environment for women to explore and tap into what lies on the inside of them holistically. The emotional support blends that Young Living provides combined with the workshops, resources, and community feel is unique and sacred work. I get to help women go on a personal journey that leads to getting in touch with the truth about who they are and what they are created to do. It’s fun, powerful, and life-changing!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing! My experiences have all been woven together into a tapestry- a tapestry where every thread, every color in the spectrum of emotions and successes and failures- is necessary. The power lies in my testimony. Without it, I would not be who I am or where I am today.
