Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Geary.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Kayla. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Hi, I’m Kayla Geary and I am the owner of KM Wedding Beauty. I come from a large family and I have three brothers. Being the only girl I tended to gravitate towards the girly things in life and was always intrigued with the hair industry. After years of searching for what my “true calling” was, I decided I should follow that passion for hair and go to cosmetology school.
Shortly after finishing school, I began to assist Kristy Warner the owner of Feather and Fringe Salon. Working alongside Kristy three days a week we would also do at least one wedding a month. This is where I found where my true calling was, bridal hair. Although I work behind the chair five days a week, being apart of someone’s big day is the most rewarding part of my job. Most little girls dream of their wedding day and I have been lucky enough to be apart of so many of those special days!
Has it been a smooth road?
A smooth road? I don’t think anything that’s worth it should be an easy road to walk. My parents have always taught me that when you fall down you need to stand back up, lace your shoes up tighter, and keep running towards the finish line. Even with that mentality, I would still say my biggest struggle was myself. I am my own worst critic and I was always comparing myself to others with more experience than me.
Listening to the advice of my parents I would practice all the time until I succeeded. Fast forward seven years later and I still practice most updos before I ever meet a bride for their trial. I think that with continuing education and staying current in the industry I will never lose my passion for hair.

Like I said before, I have been doing hair for seven years and I work behind the chair five days a week. I do everything from hair color to haircuts to hair extensions but I feel that I specialize in bridal hair. Growing up with three brothers you would think I wouldn’t have much practice styling hair but my oldest brother used to grow his hair out so I could braid it. Because of this, I learned to braid at a young age and would say I am known for my big boho braids and styling.
As a company, I am most proud of the fact that every single wedding I have ever done has been from a referral. The best compliment is a truly a referral. Because of this I take passion in knowing that I am making someone’s wedding day the best day for them. There’s so much stress in weddings already, your hair shouldn’t be one of them.
