Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Loreth.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My love for photography began with a last-minute credit for graduation. I pursued it lightly up until my daughter was born, and it was then when I began to consider it a career path!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has most definitely been a bumpy road. Up until 2017, I had been working a full-time job while trying to build up my clientele base enough to make just photography work.
The market is heavily saturated with very talented individuals in my field, so getting my name out there was quite the feat!
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I like to think of myself as a full-service photographer. I capture families, children, maternity and couples. I also photograph weddings and events in between! I am known for my light and airy style. I love to capture precious family bonds and candid moments throughout my sessions.
I am most proud of my growth over the years. It has taken a lot of dedication and education along the way! I try to make people feel at home with me. I develop great connections with my clients before, during and after their sessions to make the experience top notch!
What were you like growing up?
I have always been quite the introvert, which is ironic considering the work I do. I think photography has brought me out of my shell and helped me to be the person I am today. I wear my heart on my sleeve and will give anyone the shirt off my back so to speak.
I absolutely LOVE reading. I can get lost in a book for hours. I’m a huge Harry Potter and Star Wars fan, and totally have no problem spending the whole day at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter with my daughter. (Currently having a Harry Potter marathon as I write this!)
I love the beach, hate the sand (weird right?), have the most ridiculous case of Wanderlust, and I’m pretty obsessed with my color point Siamese named Bolt, which you may see featured on my social media from time to time!
