Meet Ken Allan Phillips of Las Vegas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ken Allan Phillips.

Hi Ken Allan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have been involved in the acting world since 5th grade (50+ years ago).

I was originally cast in in a small role in an elementary school musical called “Tom Sawyer”. I was so passionate about my very first acting gig that I actually learned every single line, including every character’s line and song in the musical.

As opening night grew near, the lead actor refused to get his long hair cut for the role of Tom Sawyer. In a crunch, the principal of the school discovered that not only had my vocal skills been underutilized, but that I had every line down and they recast me as the lead actor. It was my official launch to the world of performing and theater.

Throughout my entire path, I continued to perform till date. In spite of life’s many challenges with family and personal struggles, I never left that world. As my life continued to unfold, I challenged myself by adding new experiences (musicals, plays, singing groups, cruise ships, film, tours, CD recordings, live shows on the strip, short film competitions and finally wearing the hat of actual film producing, acting coach and so much more).

I have learned that my true path is to be dedicated to my soul and my passions. I am living proof that manifestation is real.

Several years ago, I created my own YouTube video series called “Change Your Life Through Posture”. I posed the concept that posture is more than your physical posture. I used myself as a pioneer to prove that what you think, feel and take action on actually creates your world. It was a quirky and purposefully awkward video series dedicated to proving I could use my thoughts to transform my world.

While it currently has little to no views, it served as an online public diary where I challenged myself to reach a new level as a performer. I proved the power of thought in real time by sharing my journey along the way and landing the starring role in the multi-award winning independent short film called “Forgiving Retribution” (over 50 global film festival awards to include several “Best Actor” awards.) This paved the way for my current project and co-creation “Flipside Filmz Vegas”

My current film production company “Flipside Filmz Vegas,” was created through a series of action steps from “Change Your Life Through Posture”. Action steps that have allowed me to use all my skills and talents in one purposeful project. I am extremely proud of what my team has created and proud to know the only reason you are reading this is because of the path I planned out, proved and manifested.

Since our official YouTube launching in March of 2026, we have independently written, directed, acted and produced 14 short films via our series entitled “The Waiting Room”. As an actor, producer and coach, I am dedicated to helping other performers (experienced and inexperienced) to realize their dreams and manifest the world they truly desire.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I am a graduate of A.M.D.A. The American Musical & Dramatic Academy. I was one of 3 in the entire school on a paid scholarship. The beginning my journey was full of twists and turns. I was chosen as 1 of 6 students from our school to represent the United States in a foreign exchange program and was sent to Nanterre, France for 6 weeks.

When we returned to graduate, we were featured in a showcase in New York City where I was contacted by a major agency. The agent sensed my current level of professional “New York” inexperience, and chose to belittle me and refuse representation in spite of having been the one to call me in for an interview. While it crushed me inside (at the age of 22), I knew on some level how dedicated I had already been since childhood and fully knew I was destined to pursue my dream. From that day, nothing has stopped me from moving forward.

Throughout the remaining years, I was able to accomplish tons of unique gigs. I even left “Tony & Tina’s Wedding” in NYC in the height of its success to pursue film and acting in California.

During my early 30’s to current my immediate family experienced a mountain of health challenges and needed me. I took several detours along the way while still managing to keep some level of focus on my passion. I balanced real life with as much of the business as I could.

Even with the challenges of helping to take care of my Dad(Alzheimer’s) & my Mom(The Medical Profession), I was able to secure some great opportunities in Vegas to include “Forever Plaid” at The Flamingo Hotel on the strip and was a singing Gondolier at The Venetian on the strip. I even helped to create/manage and perform as a singer in the Doo Wop singing group as the second generation of The Chaperones,

While every detour and challenge kept me distant from what I thought were my goals, I wouldn’t have changed any of those experiences as they shaped me to be the person and actor/performer I truly am currently.

I have learned that each performing experience throughout my journey, doesn’t have to relate to being a star or well known. What matters is the lives I have touched along the way and the inspiration my performances have manifested.

Regardless of where I land in the world of performing, I will continue to touch as many souls as I can till my last breath. I was made to be a performer and live my truth!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My never ending love for performing has guided me along the way. I don’t have a bone in my body that will allow me to give up. There is no reason to stop being involved in something you truly love. I am a story teller and care taker. I seek solutions. I am driven by making the world better in whatever way I can. I am a creative. My passion is my guide.

While my most favorite current acting project was playing “Ken” in one of our “Flipside Filmz Vegas” short films called “Tuscany Grill”, I am proud of every gig I have accomplished, every performer I have shared the stage with, every performing moment I have had the opportunity to share that touched another, and every moment I have not compromised myself when those in my life needed me.

I specialize in truth and human connection. I am known for being an honest, loving, caring human and will forever stay dedicated to helping others as much as I can while embracing my challenges and successes. At 63 years of age, I am just getting started…

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Truth and Purpose. Without either, you are missing out on the human experience.
