Hi Kimberlee , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
In late 2014 , while living in Temecula, I knew it was time to leave the bar and restaurant world but still wanted to serve people in a meaningful way. I began researching wedding planning and design and reached out to eight planners. One of them—Diana Ross of Celebrations with Diana, the leading planner in Temecula Wine Country—took a chance on me. By my second wedding as her assistant, she told me I was a natural and hired me as a full-time coordinator.
Within a year, I was entrusted to manage Bella Gardens Estate in Murrieta, an extraordinary family-owned venue where I refined my skills until 2019. Afterward, I expanded my experience with Lavish & Co. in San Diego, then served nearly two years as Event Manager at Falkner Winery.
When the world reopened after COVID, I knew it was time to spread my wings and launch my own company. Today I lead Weddings with Kim & Co., collaborating with top venues and curating unforgettable celebrations—most notably at Jeune Perché, one of my favorite properties. My journey blends deep hospitality roots with years of hands-on wedding expertise, driven by a passion for creating seamless, beautiful events that let couples feel fully present on their day.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. The pandemic reshaped the wedding industry overnight, and some of the amazing venues I worked for were sold as their owners moved on to new chapters. Building and sustaining a business as a self-taught entrepreneur has brought its own hurdles. But I wouldn’t change any of it—the challenges have strengthened my vision, sharpened my skills, and made me even more passionate about creating unforgettable celebrations for my couples.

I own Weddings with Kim & Co., creating elegant, highly personalized weddings in Southern California. Blending design and logistics, I specialize in full-service and month-of coordination, detailed timelines, and unique touches like custom floor plans and late-night food carts. My hospitality background and venue management experience ensure events run seamlessly while feeling effortless and artful. Couples say they feel like guests at their own wedding—what sets me apart is that mix of creativity, precision, and genuine care.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I was born and raised in San Diego and love nearly everything about it—the unbeatable Mexican food, perfect weather, and friendly vibe. My only complaints? The traffic and the cost of living, which I like to call the city’s “two full-time jobs.”
