Meet Kristin Ehrgott Kyle Atkinson of SWET USA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Ehrgott Kyle Atkinson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Founders Kristin and Kyle met the old-school way: not behind screens, but through a shared passion for fitness, wellness , and human connection. Kyle, a former college athlete, personal trainer and healthy nutrition entrepreneur knew the power of contrast therapy for health and recovery. Kristin brought creative strategy, sharp business instincts, and a family legacy in custom trailer craftsmanship.

While visiting Kyle’s family in Lake Tahoe, NV the idea for SWET was formed, and then in a New Jersey garage, with the help of Kristin’s family business in trailer customization they restored and converted a 1967 Airstream travel trailer into a wood-fired sauna and ice bath on wheels. What began as a renovation turned into a revolution—refurbished by hand, fueled by a vision for something different. They drove it West to San Diego, crafting a mobile experience where strangers could meet through contrast: fire and ice, heat and chill, challenge and recovery.

Today, SWET is a growing community of people who crave something real. We gather around rituals that spark presence, curiosity, and connection—not just recovery. Not just wellness. Something deeper. A way of connecting with others through a passion for health and conversation.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No one had ever built a sauna inside an Airstream trailer before. So we had no blueprint to go by. This was a completely custom build, and we are by no means skilled craftsmen. However we are perfectionists, and so we spent a lot of time researching proper sauna construction, learning to work with wood and tools. Many people have complimented our craftsmanship, telling us they can tell we put in a lot of attention to detail. It was quite the challenge and we did all this just 6 months into dating. I would say the experience brought us closer together and made us see how we work together as a team. And it was very rewarding to see it all come together after all our hard work. We gave ourselves a strict 30 day deadline to do the build and put in some 12-15 hour days. We ended up not meeting our deadline but only got delayed by about another week. Then on to the next challenge, towing the trailer across the country to bring it home to San Diego! It was an adventure and I would do it again! In fact we have been asked if we would build custom sauna trailers for some others, and we would definitely consider it.

We’ve been impressed with SWET USA, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As the demand for health-conscious social experiences surges, SWET is launching the nation’s first-ever vintage Airstream trailer transformed into a mobile wood-fired sauna and ice bath experience. Based in San Diego, SWET is redefining how people connect—through heat, cold, and community.
In an era where wellness festivals and sober socializing are on the rise, SWET offers a unique alternative to traditional gatherings. Their retrofitted Airstream is a traveling wellness lounge, delivering the benefits of contrast therapy—sauna and ice bath—directly to events, festivals, and private functions.
A New Era of Social Wellness
“SWET stands for Social With Extreme Temperatures,” says Kristin Ehrgott, Co-founder. “Our experiences are designed to foster genuine human connection, offering an alternative to online and alcohol-centered socializing.” This approach aligns with the growing trend of mindful drinking and the rise of sober-curious communities, particularly among younger demographics seeking meaningful, health-oriented interactions.
Distinctive Features Set SWET Apart
• Vintage Airstream Ambiance: Unlike other mobile saunas, SWET’s classic Airstream design offers a nostalgic yet modern setting.
• Brand Activation Opportunities: Wellness brands—such as hydration drinks, alcohol-free beverages, and natural fiber athletic apparel—can customize the trailer for pop-up events. This unique platform allows for immersive brand experiences, product sampling, and direct consumer engagement.
• Mobile and Versatile: SWET’s mobility allows it to appear at festivals, retreats, and private functions across the country, delivering wellness wherever it’s needed.
Aligning with National Wellness Trends
The rise of alcohol-free events and private wellness-clubs reflects a broader cultural shift. Events like Coachella’s “Soberchella” and the increasing popularity of non-alcoholic beverages indicate a growing desire for health-conscious social options. SWET taps into this movement, providing an experience that combines physical rejuvenation with social connection.
