Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Schaeffer.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I graduated Penn State University with a degree in Public Relations/Advertising and a minor in International Business. After college, I moved to NYC to do fashion and retail public relations — there is no better place to hone your business acumen than NYC. It’s true what they say; if you can make it there you can make it anywhere. After six years of living in the city, I was ready to pursue a higher quality of living, so I left the subway commutes and a tiny apartment behind to move to the Lehigh Valley.
The Lehigh Valley is a region of Pennsylvania that, because if it’s location is influenced by New York and Philadelphia — it is only an hour outside of Philly and two hours from New York. Business expectations are as high as they are in New York, but you get the benefit of having space!
I joined Klunk & Millan Advertising as Public Relations Manager right out of NYC. It provided a fast-past work environment, supportive culture, and a team of amazing experts where I got to help shape the public relations department and strategically align PR, social, and digital workflows. I’ve been with the agency for five years and currently serve as the Marketing & Communications Director. It’s exciting to be at the forefront of content creation, the progression of digital insights that can be garnered from campaigns, and the growth of influencer marketing.
Many of our clients have a global reach, so I am leading the next phase of growth for the agency: establishing an office in San Diego to cater to our West Coast clients. This has allowed us to offer extended hours and more on-site support at events and tradeshows.
Has it been a smooth road?
Meeting challenges head-on is the only way to grow, whether personally or professionally, and expanding our business to San Diego has been the most exciting challenge in my career thus far! Luckily, the local business community has welcomed us with open arms.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Klunk & Millan Advertising – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Klunk & Millan Advertising is a full-service marketing agency headquartered just outside of Philadelphia, and an office in San Diego. So whether you are looking to launch a new product or service, raise awareness for your business, increase qualified web traffic, or revamp the look and feel of your brand, we’re your one-stop shop!
We have won various American Advertising creative awards and four Public Relations Society of America Awards over the last two years of which I’ve been personally involved with.
What sets us apart is our approach and commitment to producing results. Our process first starts by understanding what your goals and objectives are. From there, we conduct research and review any and all data you can provide. We build a strategy to get you where you want to go. Once your marketing plan is in-market we keep a finger firmly on the pulse of each tactic to allow us the ability to optimize real-time or pivot if need be.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What do I like best: The weather and the abounding options of things to do! You can go from surfing to hiking to running and then to a farmer’s market all in one morning.
What do I like least: Is there anything NOT to like about San Diego? There really isn’t. In all seriousness, as an East Coast native, the main things I miss from back East are my family and friends. But, I’m plotting to get everyone to relocate!
