Meet Kyle Burkitt

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Burkitt.

Kyle, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I began photography when my family moved to Laguna Beach, CA. I started around the age of 15 with action/water photography. I just used it as a way to get photos of my friends and I surfing and bodyboarding. I used some knockoff GoPro called an SJ4000! I eventually got a DSLR and moved to shooting skimboarding, a popular Laguna Beach sport. After my friend invited me to the very first H-Influencer meet-up, a company made for creative connections. I fell in love with portrait photography. After a few years, I’ve expanded out to more commercial work and my favorite concert photography. I done shows for artists like Trippie Redd, Xavier Wulf, Bones, and the man who gave me the support from the jump, Mr. Clank Clank!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Everyone runs into challenges, I think. I’ve had my fair share of course. Broken equipment, struggling for paying jobs and of course strict security. Especially at concerts. I mean, I understand you’re doing your job, but some of them really have to relax.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I established myself as a business around 2016/2017! My specialties are pretty much anything that involves a human or humans in front of my lens. I consider myself to be really great at adapting and being a really well-rounded photographer. I’ve been thrown into some weird jobs, but I’ve never had a shoot where the client wasn’t satisfied with my work. I can pretty much do anything regarding portraits! Wedding’s, corporate Christmas parties, I have an at-home studio for headshots, senior photos, Christmas cards, you name it I can probably do it.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have been more bold with how I got my photos out. Really make sure my talent got displayed and shoot as much as possible.
