Meet Lauren Garcia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Garcia.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
My love for photography began many years ago in high school. Ever since I received my first camera, I rarely go anywhere without it. I love documenting my life through my lens.

Once I had children I wanted nothing more to be able to stay at home with my 2 beautiful girls. So, I decided to combine my two favorite things, documenting life and meeting new people, and open up my own portrait business. I believe memories are meant to be showcased as beautiful art in your home, not tucked away on a flash drive or buried deep within your computer.

When I am not photographing every moment of my family’s life (they just love me for this!) you will find me in the kitchen whipping something extraordinary. Most weekends our little family (My husband and two girls) are out on some type of adventure. Whether it be a trip to Trader Joe’s or a new hiking trail, my camera is always in tow. Life, to me, is all about new adventures and experiences.

Please tell us about your art.
I am a lifestyle photographer. Taking moments in time that showcase my client’s personality, everything from an intimate home session or an adventurous hike to a waterfall. Being able to capture true connections is what I love most about my career. I believe memories are meant to be showcased as beautiful art in your home, not tucked away on a flash drive or buried deep within your computer. Photographs are a statement piece, and often times a conversation starter. This is why they are meant to be displayed proudly on my client’s walls, or in a beautiful custom designed portrait album. This is why I partner with the best printing labs in the country to offer premium quality metal prints, wood framed canvas portraits, and other amazing products.

We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
If you are looking to connect with other artists, I say go for it! All they can do is say no, which rarely happens. Most artists will be more than happy to connect with likeminded individuals in their community.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I often post my work on social media, such as Instagram and Facebook. My website also features many samplings of my artwork, which changes often. My website is www.laurengarciaphotography.com.
