Meet Leah J

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah J.

Leah, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My journey wasn’t storybook, some would even say it was made for TV. I was a Teen Mom, I was affected by Gun Violence, Domestic Abuse & College Drop Out. For 10 years after graduating from high school in 2005 I became complacent and unmotivated. I became my circumstances. If I hadn’t had an aha moment after my final brush with tragedy I wouldn’t be who I am today.

I decided to end my career as a long term college student take my refund check-in 2014 and start my LLC. After the birth of my second child, I entered into the Media world. Created a platform called Fresh Daily Inc, built a team of women to cover events and/or conduct interviews. This segued into three prominent brands under Black Girls Do Living Leah (Fashion & Lifestyle Brand) and Luxy Bombs (All Natural Bath & Body Line)

Fresh Daily Inc is no longer however I am forever grateful for the doors it opened and the amazing people I’ve met.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Entrepreneurship for me has not been easy. It is a process that many find hard to trust including myself. What you put into it is what you get.

My biggest hurdles were not from the outside world. At some point I became inconsistent. Inconsistency doesn’t breed results.

Alright – so let’s talk business. What else should we know about your work?
As of now, many considered me an influencer under one of my brands Living Leah however I am a woman of influence. I have used my platforms to create brands that represent me as a woman but also as a woman of color.

I am proud to say I have created an authentic platform which is relatable. Whether I sharing my latest looks, to sharing about new products from my line or even what happened at school with my two daughters this is Living Leah

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment is being able to create foundations for my daughters to stand upon and thrive in a world that continues to tell them they can’t because they’re girls or because they are black.

Also, inspire others to step out of their comfort zones. Takes chance Make Mistakes
