Meet Leann DiPerri Parker of West Eleven Lane

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leann DiPerri Parker.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Leann. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I never knew I would be a stay-at-home mom until I met my son. Although it was heartbreaking to leave a corporate job that I loved, somehow I knew that the universe had other plans for us and I just had to take the leap. Since my early 20’s I had known I would eventually own a business. Being home with my son provided me with space and time necessary to realize the focus… home decor and interiors.

The truth is, I’ve had a lot of practice. When you move eight times in five years, you’re sort of forced to learn how to make space feel like home pretty quickly. I made a good amount of (costly) mistakes and figured I should probably learn the basics when it came to design principles. Since then, I haven’t stopped learning. I’ve come to realize along the way just how common these mistakes really are, and how many design questions come up for so many people every day.

As a self-proclaimed homebody and introvert, I believe one’s surroundings are instrumental to their well-being. And because of this, I’m even more driven to help people truly love the spaces they call “home”.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Generally speaking, it’s been a much smoother transition than I anticipated. Any struggles I’ve faced are fairly common for most business owners: learning curves, juggling multiple tasks, fear of rejection, fear of failure. I’ve just tried to normalize all of it and that’s helped to refocus my energy from being detrimental to being productive. Plus, it’s way more fun this way!

West Eleven Lane – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I‘m a designer who specializes in contemporary and transitional design with a coastal vibe. Having been bicoastal for a while now, I draw inspiration from both parts of the country to create a style that is light, airy, and livable.

My clients are typically busy working professionals who have never before worked with a designer. I pride myself on introducing the luxury of having a designer combined with prompt communication and exceptional service. I strive to remove the stress of the process so that my clients’ main concern is walking into a finished space to enjoy, admire, and share with the people they love.

I currently offer Full-Service Design locally and e-Design for those who live outside of Southern California.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career so far actually happened within the first six months of my being in business. A Casting Producer from HighNoon Entertainment (Fixer Upper, Flip or Flop) approached me regarding an upcoming show they had in the works for HGTV.
