Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexx Lucero.
Lexx, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Before pursuing photography I worked in the corporate world and wanted to “branch out” into a creative field but didn’t have a concrete plan at the time. Later within the same year, I was injured in a car accident and as a result, I was unable to walk or sit without being in immense pain. However, instead of seeing the incident as a setback I saw it as an opportunity and enrolled in a graphic design program, as I was certain that office work wasn’t for me.
A few months into the course I discovered my passion for taking photos but wanted to test out how viable it was as a business idea so I created an Instagram account and quickly began receiving positive feedback regarding my work.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I believe every new endeavor has its challenges, but for me, that’s part of the excitement.
So far I’ve covered events, lifestyle and street photography. However, my goal is to expand into portraiture, concert and product photography.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career is yet to come, but through my journey, I’ve found that being active in my local community and working with organizations that value my work has been truly rewarding. I’ve also had my photography featured in The Hilton Gaslamp (Downtown) as well as The Hard Rock San Diego via their social media outlets.
