Today we’d like to introduce you to Lidia Napoli.
Lidia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m an actress with many credits in television, film, and theatre. Besides acting, I produced two internationally awarded short movies. The first one completed a very successful festival run and the second one, which I have also directed, is getting recognition as well. I enjoy what I do and that is the biggest motivation.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
An actor’s life is full of ups and downs, and yes, a lot of struggle. You have to work really hard every single day and it’s never easy. I think that it depends on how much you want it. To be good at something requires a lot of dedication and sacrifice.
Tell us about your work – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My job is divided in two parts: acting and producing. The first is something I have always done since I was a teenager. The second part is relatively new to me and I had to learn from zero: development, pre-production, production, post-production and distribution. The craft of film production is a complex business but totally worth it.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Being able to do what you love, doing it with continuity and being able to balance work and family.
