Today we’d like to introduce you to Lili Guild.
Lili, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
LennonAndCo unofficially started while on bed rest in the hospital, while pregnant with my first child. With very little to do, I asked my husband to bring my craft box of fabric pieces, and I started making little bows and bowties for fun. Nearly two weeks later, more than 40+ bow accessories were created and our beautiful baby girl Lennon was born.
After giving friends & family bow ties and bow accessories as gifts, people continued to ask if I had an online shop. With so many inquiries, it motivated me to pull the trigger and create an official online shop, which is now called Lennon&Co (after my girl).
It’s been a learning curve, but with the support of my family and other small shop owners/friends, we’ve been able to adjust to the marketplace and learn what our customers want. You can now find us online, in a few retail shops across the US and seasonally, at artisan craft markets.
Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but that’s the beauty of owning a small business. 🙂 There are A LOT of bow shops in the marketplace, and that’s not even counting the big retail shop or online retailers like Amazon who have lower price points. We have to not only compete price wise with these shops but also distinguish ourselves from them.
I find that there is definitely room for all of us, so we thrive on providing our customers with fabric prints that are modern and contemporary so that our customers are able to use them for any occasion. We try to stay on top of the trends (ex: unicorns, llamas, etc.) but in a way that is still true to our style and is appealing to our customers.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Lennon&Co. – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Lennon&Co is a children’s accessories shop. We specialize in fabric hair bow accessories for babies and children. Our hair bow designs are modern and contemporary which allows customers to use them year round. They also make wonderful gifts for baby showers, birthday parties and “just because I love you” gifts. We thrive on offering customers unique, fashionable, and handmade accessories (yes, I make each and everyone one of these bows with my hands).
We are proud of being able to be a part of our customer’s lives and seeing their little ones grow. From baby showers to birth announcements and birthdays celebrations, we love seeing the photos that our customers share with us. It literally puts a smile on my face and MAYBE even gives me baby fever (haha, just kidding!).
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love living in San Diego! There is sunshine 99% of the time, and access to the beach, which being from Hawaii is key to my happiness. I often tell people that it is the “mainland version of Hawaii” for me. I am able to enjoy some elements as if I was living in Hawaii but can still hop in a car and drive a few hours away to other cities (without the ticket prices).
I don’t really think there’s anything I dislike about San Diego…
