Meet Lilla KERESZTELY of – in La Jolla – UTC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lilla KERESZTELY.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lilla. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve been living in San Diego for 5 years now and I still believe that settling down here was the best decision of my life, because I truly love this place. I am from Hungary, I was born and raised there.
When I was a little girl, I wanted to become a succesful defense attorney. I pictured myself walking on the street after winning a case looking into the shopwindow, seeing my own reflection in a super classy outfit.
I received my doctorate degree in Law in 2012 and I was very glad to be able to start my career. I made my way up pretty quickly and I had the chance to work on very serious and complicated criminal cases – even as a junior attorney. I was only 24 years old, when I saw that shopwindow- reflection, what I dreamed of. That was the time when I met my husband. He was living in San Diego for about 30 years but as a Hungarian he was back and forth between Hungary and the US. I visited San Diego multiple times on his side, and I fell in love with this beautiful city. During one of our visits he proposed me and six months later we got married, here in La Jolla. We decided to settle down here to start a family.

I left my career and started an own business with my husband.
I gave birth to my daughters Kinga and Hanga in 2016 and 2017. Since I love playing sports, I never stopped working out, neither during my pregnancies, so I published a book about my prenatal fitness routine to inspire other women to do so too. I started to use social media to promote my own book, and as I grew, I realized the power of this amazing tool. With the growth – of course – more and more brand started to reach out to me to promote their products and/or services. The funny things is, that I always considered myself as “brains” instead (or over) beauty but – after having two children and stepping into my third decade – I realized that I am a social media model and influencer. And I just love that. I feel truly blessed that I had the chance to work with globally recognized brands, like Nine West, Daniel Wellington, etc., but I am even more thankful for getting to know those wonderful people who I met during the last couple years. I feel proud, because I came from a very different place, had a complete different language, culture and profession, and I made it to here without managers or patrons. The possibility of getting better is always there, so I would like to achieve more; of course. My plan is to start an own business based on my social media skills and presence. I usually have multiple ventures going on; I love being busy.

Has it been a smooth road?
There were obstacles of course, that I was facing with. I studied English during my high school years, but I absolutely wasn’t speaking English during my college – and law firm – years (I didn’t need to), so I had to start all over again after moving to San Diego. I have to admit that it took a long time for me to overcome on my fears, and publish my first speaking content. However it always make my day, when someone hears me speak and says that my accent is very engaging.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with – – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Currently I work as a freelance social media model and influencer.
My niches are fashion, lifestyle and a little bit of fitness.
I am proud because I had the chance to represent well-known, even globally recognized brands, like Coola, Touch in Sol, Shein, NINE WEST, ULTA, Atina Collection, Daniel Wellington, Palm Beach Jewelry, Munster&Co., etc. I also work with local businesses, like restaurants, spa’s, hair stylists or aestheticians. I am truly glad because my partners love my work and they usually invite me for further collaborations. Although nothing melts my heart more than hearing those partners positive reviews who I met in person.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I visited a bunch of countries before I came to San Diego, but no other place stole my heart like this.
San Diego has it’s own magic what’s difficult to describe with words. It’s something else. My favorite spots are Coronado, the Marina, La Jolla – especially Windansea Beach and Bird Rock, and I am literally obsessed with the old town.
I couldn’t mention anything what I don’t like about this magical city.
