Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynette Lawton
Hi Lynette, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey to where I am today has been anything but linear. For years, I struggled with my own health issues—feeling dismissed and unsupported in the conventional healthcare system. I realized that if I wanted to heal, I needed to take control of my own health. That led me down a path of research, learning, and experimenting with natural health approaches that eventually allowed me to understand and take control of my own health.
This transformation was so impactful that it prompted a major life change. I left an 18-year teaching career, moved across the country, and immersed myself in the world of natural health. I became trained in functional blood work, holistic nutrition and muscle testing, a technique I now use in my in-person practice to uncover root causes and help clients regain balance in their bodies.
In addition to my in-person practice, I also run an online business with my business partner, a naturopathic doctor from Iowa. It allows us to reach women worldwide who feel stuck in their health journey and help them rediscover their vitality through holistic approaches, personalized protocols, and mindset shifts.
Helping others heal and take charge of their health has become my passion and purpose—it’s incredibly fulfilling to guide others on the journey I once walked myself.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s safe to say the road has been anything but smooth. Leaving a stable career and home at 39 to completely start over was one of the most challenging decisions I’ve ever made. Teaching had provided me with financial stability, a predictable routine, and a sense of identity. But deep down, I knew I wasn’t fulfilled, and I felt called to something greater—to pursue a career in natural health that aligned with my passion and personal experience.
The transition was filled with uncertainty and fear. Moving across the country meant leaving behind everything familiar—my friends, community, and comfort zone. I had to build an entirely new life from the ground up. Starting a business, especially in a field as unique as natural health and muscle testing, came with its own set of struggles. Learning how to market myself, build credibility, and connect with clients took time and perseverance. Entrepreneurship is NO JOKE!
There were moments when I doubted if I’d made the right choice, especially when things felt overwhelming or when progress seemed slow. But those struggles taught me (and continue to teach me) resilience and reminded me why I took the leap in the first place. Each challenge has ultimately shaped me and my business into what they are today.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Vitality Redefined?
I currently run two businesses that reflect my passion for holistic health. Locally, here in San Diego, I have an in-person practice where I use muscle testing to identify the root causes of my clients’ health challenges. This practice allows me to provide highly personalized care, uncover hidden imbalances, and guide clients toward lasting healing. It’s hands-on work that fosters deep connection and trust, which I truly value.
On the other hand, I co-run a remote practice called Vitality Redefined with my business partner. Through this platform, we serve clients nationwide, offering personalized protocols, functional lab testing, and support for women dealing with chronic symptoms or who feel stuck in their healing journey. Our approach combines science-backed strategies with a holistic perspective, emphasizing the importance of mindset, nutrition, and lifestyle changes.
What sets both practices apart is our commitment to addressing the root cause rather than masking symptoms. We also focus heavily on education, empowering our clients with the knowledge and tools they need to take control of their health.
I’m most proud of how both businesses serve as a bridge between conventional and holistic approaches, creating a safe space for clients to explore natural solutions. Whether it’s helping someone locally through muscle testing or guiding remote clients to rediscover their vitality, the ultimate goal remains the same: to help people feel like themselves again.
Metabolic Health and digestion are my specialites (although I can really help any health challenges) and I love helping women lose weight and learn about sustainable practices to keep the weight off. I can do this both in person and in my online practice
What are your plans for the future?
Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue growing both of my businesses in ways that help even more people reclaim their health and vitality. For my in-person practice in San Diego, I’m exploring ways to offer workshops or group sessions to educate my local community about metabolic health, weight loss, muscle testing and how addressing root causes can lead to transformative healing.
For Vitality Redefined, my business partner and I are working on expanding our online offerings, including creating more comprehensive programs, interactive webinars, and downloadable resources that empower our clients to take charge of their health.
A big goal for the future is to collaborate with like-minded practitioners to further bridge the gap between conventional and holistic health. I want to continue providing education and tools that make a real difference, ensuring that every client feels supported and equipped to achieve lasting wellness.
I’m also personally looking forward to diving deeper into my own continuing education, exploring advanced techniques and modalities that will allow me to better serve my clients. The journey of learning and growing never stops, and that’s something I truly love about this work.
