Meet Mallory Green

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mallory Green.

Mallory, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m Mallory, the face behind the blog, MammaMallory.com. I’m currently writing my first novel and I just launched my blog this year and had a baby less than two months ago~it’s been quite a year! I first started writing pieces of advice and for the sports section of The Foghorn as a sophomore in college at the University of San Francisco. My writing progressed into short stories and essays, and while I did not get into my dream school to get my M.F.A at New York University, I decided instead to pursue my own writing passions and publish an online blog.

My brand, MammaMallory, is all about behind-the-scenes of life, marriage, parenting, and living in sunny San Diego. I’m all about living in the moment, living life with gratitude, and giving back to yourself, your family, and the community. We do collaborations with family and baby-friendly companies that offer high-end quality products. Our vision at MammaMallory would ultimately be to provide content and advice for new families and parents and create a guide for families just moving or visiting San Diego.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
With the rejection letter from New York University, I ultimately knew as soon as I was married and we were pregnant that pursuing an M.F.A wasn’t quite on the agenda (for now). So, I began to blog and write and seek guidance and inspiration from fellow novice authors and writers online.

I submitted essays and short stories, shared my newspaper articles from college and from when I studied abroad at the American University of Paris. Suddenly, people began to recognize and notice my work and reach out to me about a blog or book. That’s when I founded MammaMallory and continue to blog and write today. I’m hoping to have my novel and first work of fiction completed by the end of 2020.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
As a blogger, social media is the ultimate tool to spread the word about your business and/or blog. I’m lucky to have a solid support group, other mothers, parents, and families who read about what we provide on MammaMallory.com and spread the word.

We offer guidance and advice on parenting “challenges”, updates on life in San Diego, and I tell my story of how I fell in love, became a writer, and now have a family. My blog has connected me to so many other creative and talented individuals, bloggers, and companies, and I’m proud of my journey that has led me to where I am today.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I’m lucky to have such a supportive and loving family that lives close by to us and who has taught me life’s most valuable lessons. Without them, I would not be the woman I am today, have the foundation I needed to create the life that I live now, and have the self-respect and self-love that is so important to have in today’s society.

Now that I’m a parent, I’m so much more appreciative of my own parents and what they went through to raise three children. It’s a scary world out there, and I try and take the good in life and write about it in my blog and share it to lift others up and make them smile or laugh. Life’s too short to not share the good parts; only positivity and fun are shared on the blog, and I think that is what makes MammaMallory stand out from others. It’s real, true, and positive, and we need more of that in our world.
