Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariah Romero.
Mariah, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
What got me started today was my need to express myself artistically whether it was singing, dancing or set designing. Growing up I wanted to become a singer, but life kept on drifting me away from that path, and I started finding myself spiritually. So I took a step back and began to dig deeper within myself learn more about what my purpose is on this earth.
I started meditating, and slowly but surely I started discovering different parts about myself that I haven’t really noticed. A couple of years went by, and during that time I participated in Healing Arts and decided to get certified to be a reiki master which inspired me to host my own meditation gatherings. During meditation naturally, I would create altars with different spiritual objects and also home decor I’ve accumulated over the years.
That’s what got me into set designing and also creating my own home goods. I started creating candles and other self-care goods to assist with living life in peace following your dreams and to stay mindful of your own life but also what is happening around you and around the world. These are the fruits of my labor.
Has it been a smooth road?
I don’t believe in smooth roads. I believe that everything we are faced with in life is a lesson and we needed to go through that lesson for our next level self or situation. Also, because life is a balance.

I specialize in Set Designing, and I am also known for it. I’ve participated in more than a few art events in San Diego.
Alongside set designing, I am a newly business owner of Fruits of Her Labor. We just released our first candle line collection called “FIND THAT PLACE” now available on the website.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I do believe that San Diego is a great place for a business like mine. I feel like everyone can benefit from it. If I were to give advice to someone starting out is first, make sure that they are passionate about their vision. Second, Do what you love because no one else is going to go hard for you like you will for yourself.
