Meet Mariana Domenes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariana Domenes.

Mariana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am Mariana Domenes, married, mother of two boys, Christian and in love with life. I have been working with tattooing with my husband for 14 years, of which 13 years I have worked with body piercings and body modification. I started tattooing four years ago and found that this is my new love. I have the style of the traditional tattoo. Over the years, I discovered another passion in which tattooing helped me discover. Paramedical Micro-pigmentation in areolas. Through micropigmentation, I can reconstruct the mammary areolas of women who have had breast cancer and had mastectomy. It is a volunteer job that I am so proud of. I can bring their self-esteem. It is very gratifying to see the result is their happiness after a very big trauma.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It was not easy. I thank God every day for having as my main support my husband Ronaldo Grecco, who has helped me over the years. Every day and a new discovery, new techniques. I always keep studying to continue my growth. I have participated in several workshops in various places around the world to improve my knowledge as Germany, London.

Please tell us about your work.
I have been working in Brazil in my tattoo shop for 15 years. I started my career in Brazil and after many studies, we decided to move to the USA, San Diego, and continue our growth. My tattoo style has always been traditional American and traditional old school. After a few years, I awoke my passion for Paramedical Micro-pigmentation in areolas. When I made my first patient, I was extremely thrilled with her happiness. I began to improve my materials and techniques to continue helping women who had breast cancer. I reconstruct the areolas through paramedical micro-pigmentation. I can bring their self-esteem. I feel blessed to do this volunteer work.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
My future is in God’s hands. I pray to be healthy and keep working because after my family, my work is very important. It makes me feel alive.
