Hi Marie , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey into the world of body sculpting started in a place I never thought it would—my garage! It began during one of the toughest chapters of my life. I was a licensed nurse working on a COVID floor, and while I loved helping others, the toll it took on my mental health was overwhelming. Between work stress, personal struggles, and postpartum depression, I made the difficult decision to step away from nursing. I felt lost, but I knew I needed to focus on healing.
As I started my recovery, I realized I no longer recognized the person staring back at me in the mirror. I felt older, unhappy, and worn down. Determined to change that, I began prioritizing my well-being through therapy, healthy eating, and exercise, all while balancing life as a mother to my 2-year-old daughter. Despite my efforts, I still couldn’t get rid of the stubborn fat around my tummy and chin—areas that, no matter how hard I worked, just wouldn’t budge.
Now, here’s the funny part—despite being a nurse for a decade, I’ hate needles! So, I knew I had to find a non-invasive solution, and that’s when I discovered non invasive treatments. I love the result and it made me feel happy again but the place where I went didn’t really explained how it works, curious on how it tightened my skin and reduced my fat I started researching then I went all in, got trained, and even bought my own machine.
I wasn’t about to experiment on strangers, though! So, my first guinea pigs were my husband, brothers, and mom. They were willing participants—mostly because they didn’t have much choice! But when I saw the results actually working on them, I knew I was onto something. That’s when I started telling my friends and extended family, and it just grew from there. What started as a garage experiment turned into something much bigger, and today I’m helping people feel good about themselves in a way that’s pain-free and needle-free (thank goodness!)
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not! While I got clients left and right, thanks to my friends and family loving their results and spreading the word, I was a bit unprepared for the business side of things. Referrals were pouring in. But as someone who didn’t know much about starting a business, I didn’t realize there were regulations around running it from a non-commercial property.
Another big challenge was getting comfortable with the ‘money talk.’ I used to be super shy about discussing pricing, especially with people close to me. In the beginning, I wasn’t charging much—if anything—when it came to friends and family. I undervalued both myself and the service I was offering. It took time to realize that what I was providing was worth the investment, and that I had to set clear boundaries when it came to pricing. Learning that was a huge shift in my business mindset. .
It was a learning curve, for sure, but every challenge helped me grow and push forward. Looking back, even though it wasn’t smooth, it was worth every bump in the road.

Our business, SD BODY VENGEANCE, was born out of a desire to help people feel confident and empowered in their own skin. I specialize in non-invasive face & body sculpting treatments, offering a range of services from fat reduction and muscle toning, skin tightening to skin lifting and anti aging. What sets us apart is that we provide real results without the need for surgery, needles, or downtime—which is a huge win for someone like me who’s worked as a nurse for 10 years and is still scared of needles!
I’m proud to say that SD BODY VENGEANCE is a family-run business, with my husband as my business partner. He works as an ICU RN, so together, we bring a deep understanding of the human body and a commitment to client care that’s rooted in our medical backgrounds.
We also believe in constantly improving. That’s why I’ve invested heavily in training and staying up to date with the latest technology. Not only does it deliver incredible aesthetic results, but it also helps with pain relief and recovery.
What I’m most proud of, brand-wise, is how personal our service is. What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I learned so much from it but I believe the most important lesson I’ve learned from my business is the power of resilience and adaptability. Starting SD BODY VENGEANCE has taught me that setbacks are a part of the journey, and how we respond to them defines our path forward. There were moments when I felt overwhelmed or uncertain, but each challenge became an opportunity for growth.
I’ve also learned that building genuine connections with my clients is invaluable. Every interaction is a chance to uplift someone, and seeing their transformations—not just physically, but emotionally—has been incredibly rewarding. It reminds me that my work goes beyond just providing treatments; it’s about empowering others to feel their best.
Ultimately, I’ve realized that investing in myself—whether it’s through training, seeking knowledge, or personal growth—enables me to serve my clients better. This journey has reinforced my belief that when we pursue our passions with authenticity and dedication, we not only elevate ourselves but also inspire those around us to do the same.
