Today we’d like to introduce you to Ma’Riece Johnson.
Ma’Riece, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am originally from Kansas City, Missouri where I met my Mambo at a shop that she owns in the Crossroads area of Kansas City. I was already on a path of self-discovery and also just a path of learning in general. While on this path, I hoped to find like-minded people that shared the same passions of using spiritual gifts to help and heal oneself and others.
After meeting my Mambo, she helped to guide me not only my own path but on a path that had been calling out to me. I was inspired by the community that she built and that she continues to build. I soon said goodbye to Kansas City and moved to San Diego, California, where I decided that I would keep spreading the love and magic and connect communities. I started my own business, SoCal Cauldron to do that. If people need help, guidance, and more, I do what I can to help them rather it’s by giving them a reading/spiritual consultation, setting lights for them (Spells done by loading candles with an assortment of herbs and other dressings), and if wanted, I offer advice in places that I have experience or a clear and logical view. Today, I still offer services to the community. My goal is to help and heal the community. Blessed Be.
Has it been a smooth road?
The road has not been completely smooth. Even today, it is always a small battle. Sometimes you have customers, Sometimes you don’t. There have been times where people have been a bit hostile because they did not like what they heard from a spiritual consultation. On the bright side, though, there is nothing like doing work for your client and having them call you to let you know how well your work helped them. Although not completely smooth, it’s fine because it is constantly a learning experience.
Please tell us more about your work. What do you do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
My Company is what I call Witch business. It is known for magic and spells performed to help people. From setting of the lights to spelled baths or washes, my company is known for getting the job done. Many Know of my company because of the readings I provide, I use a 36 French card system (Lenormand Deck) as a tool to help get the message across that my client needs to hear. Usually, then it is determined by the client if they want/need a setting of the lights or other further help. There are spells like Road opener to keep one’s path clear of blockages and issues going towards goals. There is money draw for pulling in money or new work or better work, there is love, protection, court work, and so much more that is done to make sure that the job is getting done.
I am most proud that my company has not only been of aid to those in San Diego but a lot of my clients are from other states all over the country. The uniqueness of my company is what sets it apart from others with similar companies. My company charges very little for these services which, if one was to go to other spiritual practitioners or witches, the price tends to be a lot higher for these services because a lot does go into performing magic. My point of keeping my prices low is that I know not everyone can afford help all the time. I know when I am in need of something, I am not always in the financial position to fix my problems.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Our city, I think, is hard to start off this type of business because it has become very gentrified. From the short four years that I have lived here, I have seen places with mom and pop shops, local artist and more, pushed out of the place where they actually made their living, Everything in this city is being replaced by chains and corporations and that leaves no room for local support to artist, craftsmen, and local business owners. Our city could improve by supporting more of the local people instead of placing targets and Starbucks on their business. This way our city will keep more of its culture, its spirit and authenticity instead of being a bland commercial that you can’t wait to flip the channel on.
