Meet Marisol Gramlich of Marisol Fitness in Del Sur/4S Ranch

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marisol Gramlich.

Marisol, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My journey began after I had my second son. I was a busy mom with 2 boys and owned a Mexican restaurant. My anxiety and stress was at an all time high and to make things worse I had a very low self esteem. I’ve always been a very fit and healthy woman but, during this time, found myself depressed with 40 pounds over weight. I wanted a quick way out of this rut so I went to see a plastic surgeon to talk about a tummy tuck. You know you are talking to a great doctor when he refuses to do surgery on you until you commit to 6 months of healthy diet and fitness to lose weight. So my husband hired a personal trainer and there began my fitness journey. I signed up for my first 1/2 marathon to stay accountable and joined a women’s bootcamp class twice a week at 5:30am. I worked out hard and cleaned up my diet and lost 20 pounds in 4 months. It wasn’t easy but I was determined. 6 months later I was at my leanest and strongest I’ve ever been. I felt amazing and looked even better. It was the effort of like-minded women who inspired me and kept me on track and who were also going through similar journeys.
I wanted to inspire others to do the same. To gain the confidence and self esteem that they once had but now lost. So I got certified to train post and pre natal women. Soon after I decided to level up and became a certified Personal Trainer through ACE Fitness. I not only learned about the human body but also what moves us mentally and what holds us back. I was obsessed with learning more through my own struggles and although we are all so different physically, we have so many commonalities. We all want to feel confident in our own skin.
I am proud to say I have helped thousands of women, men and children through their health and fitness journey. I make their struggles my own and try to see things from their lens so I can better understand where they are coming from. I have learned to love my body but most importantly respect it. Our bodies will get us through the roughest of times but we must give it the right tools to fight the battles.
Aside from my personal trainer certification I am also a TRX certified coach as well as a certified Behavior Change Specialist.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Absolutely not! Being a working mom trying to make time for myself was my biggest hurdle. I had to wake up at 5am to workout then come home and take care of my family and run a business.

Please tell us about Marisol Fitness.
My business is personal and group trainer. I mainly focus on women who have children 4 years and older. Just like I was back then they are ready to get their body back. They had put in so many hours as a mom that they were too exhausted to make time for themselves. I could relate so they found it easy to talk to me and sometimes our workout sessions would turn into therapy sessions which I loved because I learned so much about what was holding them back. I make their goals my personal goals by checking in on them on the days we wouldn’t have training sessions. And with tough love I would challenge them when they started feeling sorry for themselves. I am a no B.S. kind of trainer but with lots and lots of empathy.
I am proud of the reputation I have built. Whenever I get a text or an email telling me how I’ve changed their lives, it’s overwhelming. I sometimes have to pinch myself to believe I can do that to someone.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Gosh! I would have been a bit riskier with my goals as a business. I’ve had many amazing opportunities but was always scared to take the leap. I’m a very calculated person and have to analyze everything so I know I have lost out on some career opportunities that would have placed me at a level I could never imagine. I’m still a work in progress and I’m ok with that.
