Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Mofid.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Mark. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I moved to San Diego from Baltimore in 2004 where I trained in plastic surgery at Johns Hopkins. For the last 15 years, I have endeavored to build the kind of practice where I would want a member of my own family to receive care. Our front and back-office staff are among the best in the business. We have a state of the art Medicare and AAAASF accredited surgery center. On the surgical side, we offer a full array of aesthetic and reconstructive procedures: facial rejuvenation procedures, rhinoplasty including reconstructive and functional procedures, breast surgery including complex revisionary procedures and surgery of the body including tummy tucks, liposuction, massive weight loss surgery and gluteal surgery.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any center of excellence, maintaining a high quality of care for all patients is a continuous effort. All of our staff members (including me) have continuous education in the field at national and international meetings. We also contribute by performing original research with clinical trials and seek to better outcomes through data-driven studies.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about San Diego Skin – what should we know?
We offer a wide array of plastic and aesthetic surgical procedures, non-invasive procedures such as Botox and facial fillers, lasers, aesthetician services, chemical peels and permanent makeup. The surgical procedures that I perform include aesthetic procedures of the face and body as well as reconstructive breast and facial surgery. I have published extensively in the field of revisionary breast surgery, buttock enhancement and endoscopic facial surgery. I am perhaps most well known for revisionary rhinoplasty surgery using rib grafts and for the use of biologics in breast surgery.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
An extraordinary amount of hard work and planning goes into each surgery. Listening to our patients and doing for them as we would have done to a member of our own family is the principle that guides us the most.
