US Window & Door started over 30 years ago. I had been working in other window and door companies and saw how inefficient the businesses were run and how that negatively effects customers and installations. So I set out to build a better window and door company that was customer focused. After 30 years in San Diego we have become Milgard’s Highest Rated Dealer Nationwide. Our customer service focused installation and no pressure sales process is really appreciated by the customers. Their support has allowed us to remain one of the oldest exclusive window and door dealers in San Diego country.
Has it been a smooth road?
The business started directly after I had my first child so the pressure was definitely on to make it work. At that time the entire office staff was basically just myself. It was definitely the hard road of cold calls from the kitchen table. However, the installations started with a great quality and just got better over the years. In business, there are always obstacles to overcome and plateaus to break through. While the company had a good growth rate it has really taken off over the last few years with the right people in the office, in the field, and the customer-focused approach at the center of everything we do.

We are one of the oldest (exclusive) window and door companies in San Diego. We specialize in retrofit windows and doors as well as new construction. New construction windows and doors mean we can take on more specialized projects such as turning a window into a door. Not every window company does new construction which sets us apart. Our office staff really cares about the customers and moving the project along as smooth as possible. While no company is perfect we do everything we can to rectify any issues so that the customer feels they had a great experience throughout. We use a lot of new and custom technology to make sure our teams are efficient and the customer is aware of their project status. We continue to innovate to enhance the customer experience and process efficiency. We are very proud of our customer reviews and the title of the Highest Rated Milgard Dealer in the nation. Though we only serve San Diego County and South Orange County the positive reviews and comments continue to come in. We are eternally grateful for the support of the community throughout the years.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
We love San Diego and the surrounding cities that make up our great county. The people here are great, customers are friendly but also specific in their desired outcomes, and you can’t beat the weather. However, it is an extremely competitive market and companies continue to enter and then fall away or change what they do to continue in a different way. If someone was just starting out, I am not sure I would recommend this market. Even with the improved economy margins aren’t what they were only ten years ago and it’s more of a commoditized market today. If you are a savvy business person you could be fine but don’t expect things to take off quickly with this level of competition.
