Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Hinojosa.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m from Colorado and grew up on a ranch in a small town. I didn’t realize it at the time but it was in high school that I would start my life path of helping people around me. In high school I would volunteer to help out other students with disabilities; after graduating, I decided I wanted to continue to help people and started working in a group home.
Shortly after I began to work for the State of Colorado at their state hospital. I worked there for six years, before finding my way to California.
I did some research with the advice from a friend and decided to move to Texas and attend Texas Center For Massage Therapy.
Once graduated I decided to move back to California and give it shot and become my own boss and started my own company, with the intent to help people with their daily stresses in life.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Owning a business is definitely not a walk in the park. It has really helped me to grow as a person knowing where I am strong and what I can work on.
Please tell us about Palpate Body.
In June of 2017 I started Palpate Body. My business is focused on listening to the clients’ needs and wants, then developing a plan and executing it with the intent of leaving them pain and stress free.
I feel like my business sets its self apart dramatically because we listen to our clients and use our knowledge of how the body works so that our clients can get the best massage possible.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have done more networking and reading to prepare myself.
