My father and mother, Michael and Larissa, started this company with an idea to combine the highest quality ingredients with years of research and experience to make a premium gelato. We are first generation Americans and moved to San Diego in 2013 from Curitiba, Brazil.
While we knew nobody and had no connections in San Diego, we had the determination to live the American dream. In 2014 we started producing gelato on sticks and pints and expanding our reach one store at a time. Every year since the business has continued to grow and thrive, and we have developed and devoted customer base.
We correlate our success to a few principles we have never changed since day one.
1) We are family owned and operated.
2) We use authentic bases imported directly from Italy.
3) We produce our gelato in small batches ensuring the highest quality possible.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest obstacle we face was moving to a new country and not speaking the language. Business is all about relationships, and we had to find new ways to communicate in the beginning.
