Today we’d like to introduce you to Michele Beneforti. Him and his team share his story with us below.
Please kick things off for us with some background on the story.
Michele, born in 1991, is a guitarist, singer, songwriter born in Tuscany, Italy and currently based in Los Angeles, USA. After a long experience of live shows in Italy and Europe, Pistoia Blues Festival and Metarock Festival (Italy), Tenerife Festival (Spain), Salem Jazz Festival (USA), Michele made it to the top 10, among 200 candidates at Umbria Jazz Clinics, winning a scholarship to attend Berklee College Of Music in Boston, from which he graduated in 2017.
Beneforti obtained a great appreciation in the American scene, playing with the original All-Female Band of Beyoncé and well-known artists among which, Phil Thompson, Phil Lassiter (Prince) and Magic.
Active on the East Coast live scene, Michele performed with his band in Festivals and venues presenting a show composed of his original music.
In April 2018 his first discographic work “Evolution” was released on all Digital Platforms.
Michele, please tell us more about your work.
I like to mix genres, so it’s hard for me to put a label on my work, but if I really had to I’d consider it “Contemporary Urban Pop.” Growing up with soul music I learned the importance of putting my heart into my stories, the groove, and the beauty of jazzy harmonies. I make songs that describe what I went through and hopefully, people will relate. They are inspired by relationships I had, the cities I visited, and my views on social equality.
The production aspect is a huge one for me. I always listen to records that I like to understand what attracts me and why I tend to gravitate around them so much, trying to bring those elements to my records.
As far as the artwork, it’s super important too. I’m a sucker for graphic design and art in general. I work with professional designers who help me to bring my ideas to life. I’m into minimal, geometric art lately. I also like skulls with roses, that’s the artwork of my EP “Evolution.”
As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
I believe that success is personal. It changes from person to person.
For me, success is when people feel something listening to your music. Furthermore, selling out venues all over the world, playing my music with my band night after night and to have millions of plays on my Spotify is my biggest goal.
I put so much work in what I do, and it would be a success if people noticed me and genuinely enjoyed my music.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
My work is on every streaming platform. Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Amazon Music etc…
They can also find my videos on Youtube, Instagram and Facebook, leaving ya some links below.
